BFSSS, CELEBRATED INDEPENDENCE DAY

          
                
                    Baba Farid Sr. Sec. School celebrated Independence Day. Students of +1 and +2 presented a number of items on this occasion. A play was also enacted based on theme of liberty. The Play “ bapu Main Hindustaan  Laina”  was  full  of  humour  and  innocence.            The function was started with a welcome speech by Vice Principal Mrs. Navninder Kaur Dhillon. Then Students from various classes gave speech . Many students presented patriotic songs . At later Mr. B.D. Sharma( Deputy Director BFGI) gave wonderful speech and it remined all the people from their duties towards their nation last but not least the programme was ended with national anthem. Chairman BFGI  S. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal and Mrs. Paramjeet kaur Dhaliwal were guests of day.

BFSSS organized an extension lecture on the topic (Moral Education) :

The key speaker was Mr. Avininder Singh (A.C.O.), Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle. He addressed the students by presiding the scenarios of modern social world in which the student have forgotten their moral values. He created consciousness among the students and motivated them to create an individual and unique identity of themselves by adopting the ethics and values in their life. Overall, the session brought a sense of moral and social responsibility in their minds. He further gave very valuable tips to lead happy and prosperous life. At last Principal S. Baljinder Sing gave vote thanks to guests of the day. He also motivated the student to live better life by adopting these tips in life.

BFSSS organized Rakhi Making Competition

The aim of education is not to provide students with mere degrees but all round development of student is very much required. To arouse the artistic qualities among the students Baba Farid Sr. Sec. School, Deon, Bathinda organized Rakhi Making Competition of boys and girls participated in this competition and showed their creativity. They used simple household decoration material for preparing Rakhis. All the participants made beautiful and attractive Rakhis. The act of judgement was performed by Ms. Ranveer Kaur Brar (HOD Computer Science, BFC) and Ms. Pawandeep Kaur (Lect. In Punjabi, BFCE). It is very difficult for Judges to select best one, but Amarjeet Kaur, Gagandeep Kaur, Kulwinder Kaur and Sarabjeet Kaur defeated all and bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. Principal S. Baljinder Singh and Vice Principal Mrs. Navninder Kaur Dhillon congratulated the winners and appreciated to the efforts of all participants. Both further motivated all the students to take part in such activities in future also.

An Extension Lecture was organized at BFSSS.

The education policy of BFSSS is not only confined to deal with prescribed course work but also to make efforts from time to time to provide its students with an opportunity to interact with enlightened scholars from varied fields. An extension lecture on "Relation between literature and moral values" by Dr. Satpreet Singh (Prof. in Punjabi) organized by department of Punjabi BFSSS. This lecture was particularly for literature students for making them aware from their precious literature and moral values. Dr. Satpreet Singh enriched the knowledge of students by giving many examples from real life. He made the students aware from this concept that we have very rich and great literature. Principal Baljinder Singh and Vice Principal Mrs. Navnider Kaur Dhillon thanked Dr. Satpreet Singh for his valuable lecture and further they promised to organize such lectures in future also.

BFSSS celebrated martyrdom of great martyr Shahid Udham Singh

Realizing social and patriotic responsibilities towards motherland and making the student aware from the legendary freedom fighters Baba Farid Sr. Sec. School, Deon, Bathinda celebrated the martyrdom of Shahid Udham Singh. A number of experts enriched the knowledge of students and told the tales of this legendary figure?s greatness. A number of students participated in this celebration and the stage is hold by Mr. Gurdas Singh Sandhu (Lect. In Punjabi). Sh. B. D. Sharma (Deputy Director Activities, BFGI) valso enriched the knowledge of students. Songs, Poems and Speeches were delivered by students. An Essay Writing Competition was also conducted on this occasion. This function aroused the sleeping patriotic feelings of students towards their motherland. In Essay Writing Competition Jaspreet Kaur, Ravneet Kaur and Manpreet Kaur bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. Ramandeep Kaur and Ishwarjot Singh presented patriotic songs on this occasion. At least Principal S. Baljinder Singh and Vice Principal Mrs. Navninder Kaur Dhillon extended their gratefulness to the guests of the day for enlightening the brains and hearts of students with nationalism

   BFGI organized summer camp (4th June, 2012 to 8th June, 2012) .


Baba Farid Senior Secondary organized a summer camp from June 4th to 8th in the premises of BFGI under the supervision of Ms. Geeta Arora, Mr. Yatinder Kumar and Ms. Sonu Sharma.
In this Camp, Yoga classes held for the students, where they erudite different exercises of yoga. A Special workshop on journalism and Mass Communication was organized by Ms. Jaswinder Kaur in which, students acquired basic techniques of news writing, advertising and mass media. The students also prepared their OWN advertisements and mass media. The Student took Part all these activities with full thrilling.
On the Last Day of the camp, a Yoga Competition was held for the students and they demonstrated Their exercises. For the entertainment, students Presented dance and bhangra, Principal of BFSSS Mr. Baljinder Singh and Ms. Navninder Kaur, Vice Principal, of BFSSS applauded the students for their wonderful performance.

Baba Farid Sen. Sec. School Students put up a good show in Academics :

Baba Farid Sen. Sec. School  is the leading school in malwa   region. 10+2 students of the school brought laurels not only to school but to Baba Farid Group of Institutions as they notched up a brilliant performance in exams of Punjab school education board. 464 students appeared for the exam and recorded 100% result. 424 students passed in first division and 90 students secured more than 80%. The success stories of the students do not end here. Akhil jindal academically gifted student of commerce bagged first position in district in commerce bagged first position and overall 2nd position in district. He got 89.7% marks. Highest marks in non-medical basic are bagged by Vinny Arora and Trinder Kaur both got 89.1%. In medical MCQ Jaspreet Kaur secured highest marks 88.5%, in arts 84.3% highest bagged by Gagandeep Kaur. The school is overjoyed with result. The 100% result made the parents and teachers proud. Chairman S. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, S. Baljinder Singh (Principal) and Mrs. Navnider Kaur Dhillon (Vice Principal) & Mr.Shashi Kant Sharma (HOD Commerce) congratulated the students, parents and teachers for such a marvelous achievement. At last they wished good luck to all the students for their glorious future.

BFSSS Arranged An Educational Tour

 Educational tours are of great importance as they not only broaden out look but enhance students knowledge to a great extent, keeping this in view in these summer vacations Baba Farid Sr. Sec. School arranged an education tour for 10+1 and 10+2 students to Dalhousie to Jalandhar under the supervision of Mrs. Navninder Kaur Dhillon (Vice Principal, BFSSS).  During this tour students visited various important and famous places, here they visited wild life sanctuary at KALATOP where they got knowledge about wild life, Dainkund peaks were also shown to students where they visited Air Force Camp and got knowledge about it.  Khajjair which is known as Mini Switzerland of Himachal Pradesh was also visited Mr. Daljeet Singh (Lect. in Botany) threw light on vegetation and the geographical features of Dalhousie.  He loaded the students with Flora and Fauna knowledge of the place during this tour Panchpulla was also visited where S. Ajit Singh, a great martyr of Punjab Samadh is situated. On the last day tour  team went to Jalandhar Haveli where students were made aware about their traditional Punjabi culture.  Here students enjoyed a lot and got educational knowledge.  This educational tour really proved fruitful and knowledgeable for the students.  All the students thanked management and Principal S. Baljinder Singh for arranging such knowledgeable tours and bagged to arrange such tours in future also.

Participation of BFSSS Students in DD Punjabi Programme "Vaad-Vivaad"




For the round development of the students time to time Baba Farid Sr. Sec. School organised Co-curriculum activities.  Six students of BFSSS participated in DD Punjabi programme “Vaad-Vivaad” where they did debate on the topic In this debate competition Ms. Veermaan Kaur (10+2 Arts) and Sukhveer Kaur (10+2 Non Medical) students were dictained best speakers and were appreciated for their knowledge and confidence.  This programme was telecasted at 9:00p.m. on Saturday and was repeated on Sunday at 11:30a.m. and 3:30p.m.
